Johnny Longfeather is a multi disciplinary artist and musician with an Anishinaabe and second-generation Filipino heritage. Being born of two different worlds, he is constantly looking for ways to intersect and weave his multi-faceted passions to celebrate my own unique stories and experience. In the Anishinaabemowin language, there is a word for one's own stories and perspective, Aandisokaanaan. Johnny uses his own stories, heritage, traditions, and Aandisokaanaanin in order to open conversations about deconstructing systems of oppression, decolonization, healing, masculinity, and Indigenous peoples' roles in an interconnected and globalized world. |
