Nokiiwin Tribal Council and Southern First Nation Secretariat have partnered on a new initiative intended to support both First Nation Finance personnel working across the province of Ontario, and to provide practical applications finance training to post-secondary students, or adults interested in working in the field. The Capacity Connect initiative continues to evolve and we are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable, and motivated Finance Advisor who has experience working within the First Nations field (or demonstrated education and experience). The Finance Advisor will provide guidance and support to identified First Nation finance teams to support capacity development.
The Finance Advisor will be responsible for working with the project team and clients to help identify finance priorities and work flow, and to provide training and or support in a variety of areas such as; Indigenous Services Canada reporting, systems and software consultation, general accounting / bookkeeping and others as required. The Finance Advisor will be responsible for producing work plan documents and contribute to other key areas within the Capacity Connect initiative.
