Summary Legal Clinics and Public Legal Education Provided by Request of the Community

Free Legal Clinics for Nokiiwin First Nations

Free legal advice clinics are being held for member First Nations of Nokiiwin. Contact your band office or Nokiiwin for more information or to book an appointment.

Advisory Clinics will be held on reserve for most communities. For Animbiigo Zaagi’igan, clinics will generally be held at the Thunderbird Friendship Centre in Greenstone. For Bingwi Neyaashi, clinics will generally be held at the band office in Thunder Bay. Members living in Thunder Bay are welcome to connect about appointments at our main office. Please contact us with any access concerns (e.g. in hospital, long-term care facility, etc.).

Legal Aid Ontario funds the advice clinics. Topics include:

  • Criminal law
  • Family law
  • Other general inquiries

Legal education sessions will also be held on issues that community representatives suggest or that we hear consistent questions about.
