As a follow up to the March 19-20, 2019 Conference held in Toronto on Bill C-65, which is an amendment to the Canada Labour Code on Violence and Harassment in the Workplace, Nokiiwin is proud is to announce a follow up workshop that is designed to support communities in the their journey to “OUR RESPECTFUL COMMUNITY.”
We heard that the journey needs to begin for each community with the recognition that communities are impacted by colonization which has interrupted our relationships and how we have moved away from our traditional ways of caring for one another.
Nokiiwin has developed a DRAFT First Nation Employer Toolkit based on the input we received.
This workshop will provide opportunity to have an open and safe space to have discussions of what is workplace (Lateral) violence including bullying, harassment, toxic workplace, etc., and the reach of Workplace (Lateral) Violence including workers, management, Chief and Council, and community members.
Nokiiwin will sponsor two representatives from each First Nation to attend and participate to a maximum of 160 delegates on a first come first served basis. The travel claim for can be found here
