Program Information
The Mino-niigaanendmowin Initiative has started in your community. This program is focussed on finding out what your needs are and working with you to meet them. We offer:
Education: Work towards your Ontario Secondary School Diploma with a live teacher
Life Skills: Improve your teamwork, goal-setting, or whatever life skills you need to work on
Work Placement: Explore a career option and continue to develop your skills through a 15-week paid work placement
Advantages
Recognized Diplomas: This program allows you to work towards a real high school diploma (if that is something you need).
In Your Community: We are offering this program in Fort William First Nation, Kiashke Zaaging Anishinaabek, Binjitiwaabik Zaaging Anishinaabek, Pic Mobert First Nation, Beardmore, and Thunder Bay. You don’t need to move.
In-House Teachers: Work at your own pace, and get support from a real teacher working at your site. This isn’t an online program.
A Client-Centred Approach: We will work with you to build a plan around your needs and desires.
Supports: For part of the time while you are in the program, you may be eligible for financial support around income, childcare, and transportation.
