Cheryl Suggashie is Nokiiwin's new Community Legal Worker. Cheryl is from Pikangikum First Nation but has been residing in an urban setting most of her life. Cheryl has over 14 years of educational experience in the Law and Indigenous Social Justice field. She recently graduated from the Master of Social Justice program at Lakehead University and has been a strong advocate for Indigenous Justice in Thunder Bay. She currently volunteers as a Council Member, through the Aboriginal Community Council Program at the Thunder Bay Indigenous Friendship Centre. As the new Community Legal Worker, Cheryl is the first Point of Contact for Nokiiwin community members and clients who are or may be involved with the justice system, Legal Aid Ontario or the court system.
